Creative Writing Classes
I have been teaching people how to write. Sometimes I have big college classes, sometimes small groups of 3 or 5 people. In Nairobi, Kenya I was involved in training a group of 22 boys and girls to write. One of my students and published an anthology of short stories at age 14 and then went ahead to write a chapter story.
Swahili
I write in two languages, English and Swahili/Kiswahili.
I taught Swahili in a primary school in Nairobi Kenya for 4 years. During that time I wrote Kapotei na Lulu. This play was performed by the school I was teaching before it was aired on television and then published.
